Arthur I. Golden has retired as director of the governing board of the New York Property Insurance Underwriting Association (NYPIUA), which is New York's insurer of last resort for property risks.
Mr. Golden was appointed to NYPIUA's board in 1984, and was the longest serving board member, according to the association. During that time, he has served on the producer liaison, arson and fire safety, claims, and finance committees.
Mr. Golden founded Golden and Golden Insurance in 1957. He was past president of the board of directors of the agents' association Professional Insurance Agents of New York (PIANY).
PIANY recognized him as producer of the year in 1989 and agent of the year in 1994.
Mr. Golden also served as director on the Council of Insurance Brokers of Greater New York (CIB), a New York City association for agents and brokers, and director of the New York Automobile Insurance Plan, the state's residual market for auto risks. Additionally, he was a member of the producer liaison committee for Insurance Services Office (ISO).
