The Northwest Automotive Trades Association (NATA) recently conducted a survey of auto collision repair shops across the state of Oregon for the third year in a row to see how insurance companies are treating vehicle owners.

Results of the survey revealed that State Farm and several Northwest-based insurers ranked higher in customer care than some larger companies, including Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, and Safeco, which all earned a grade of D+ or lower.

According to NATA, about 650 shops around the state received the survey asking them to grade the top 22 auto insurers in the state in terms of how well each company's "policies, attitude, and payment practices ensure quality repairs and customer service for Oregon motorists." More than 100 shops from 48 communities across the state responded to the survey. State Farm received the highest grade with a B+, dropping slightly from an A- earned last year.
