The Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New Jersey saidits conference next month will focus on agency technology.

IIABNJ's meeting is scheduled for March 6 at the Sheraton atWoodbridge Place Hotel in Iselin, N.J.

The organization said it is bringing together a variety ofnational presenters to help agents understand the real-timerevolution underway in the independent agency system. Real timeprovides a single workflow for servicing and quoting.

“What many agents may not realize is that new, expensivehardware or software is unnecessary as most features of real timeare already available through their agency management systems,”said William H. Malone, IIABNJ chairman.

The full-day program includes the seminar “Real Time Technology:Why Real Time Tools are the Future for Agency Improvement ofCustomer Service and Agency Operational Efficiency.” The programhas been approved for six New Jersey continuing educationcredits.

With the presentation, IIABNJ said, there will be discussionsfrom insurance carrier representatives as well as demonstrationsfrom agency management system vendors. The session will bemoderated by Jeff Yates, executive director of ACT (the AgentsCouncil for Technology).

The second program of the day, “The Power of Change,” will bepresented by co-founder of the insuranceisfun.com Web site ChrisAmrhein, of Amrhein and Associates Inc. He will review materialsdeveloped and published by ACORD and other industry partners toaddress the five steps toward successful completion of change in anorganization's workflows.

Also scheduled is another round of “Insurance Jeopardy,” whichIIABNJ said was popular at last year's event.
