An agent and carrier group said it will present a June 26 panel discussion by industry and government representatives concerning issues related to insuring for natural catastrophes.
The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents and the Florida Insurance Council announced the event as “Government and Insurance Markets: Achieving the Balance.”
The purpose of the conference at the Marriott Hotel in Marco Island, Fla., is to help better define problems and work toward viable solutions, PIA said. Joining PIA in hosting the event are the PIA of Florida and PIA of Louisiana.
Florida Insurance Council’s Annual Conference will be held in conjunction with the panel discussions event.
The four-hour session will consist of two panels comprised of leaders in key positions in government at the federal and state level along with insurance industry leaders. They will discuss issues related to natural disasters, their impact and aftermath, focusing on insurance, the PIA said.
In addition to elected officials, the chief executive officers from insurance, reinsurance and state-backed pools, state insurance commissioners, and federal and state regulators are scheduled to participate.
