Thousands of Farmers Insurance agents, employees and customers nationwide will be working to raise $2 million for the March of Dimes on June 7.
This is the second annual “Be a Hero for Babies Day” sponsored by Farmers Insurance. The company said it is calling on people across the country to be “heroes for healthy babies” through inventive means of fundraising such as motorcycle rallies and chess tournaments.
Farmers Insurance started “Be a Hero for Babies Day” in 2006, when Chief Executive Officer Paul N. Hopkins challenged its agents and employees to raise $1 million in one day for the March of Dimes. The challenge resulted in $1.44 million being raised–the largest single-day fundraiser in March of Dimes history.
