The Arizona Captive Insurance Association (AzCIA) said itelected five new board members at its annual membershipmeeting.

Elected were William Bartlett, Bartlett Actuarial Group, Ltd.;Joel Chansky, Milliman Inc.; Lee Filener, Marsh Inc.; and WilliamPowell, Salt River Project. Sheldon Epstein, Moss Adams LLP, waselected to a second term.

The following officers will serve the association's board ofdirectors during 2007-08: President–Michael R. Mead, Sonora CaptiveManagement, LLC; Vice President–Ann W. Wick, AIG InsuranceManagement Services Inc.; Treasurer–Christopher S. Murray,Caitlin-Morgan Insurance Services; and Secretary–Thomas R. Bond,Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin.

AzCIA said its 2007 annual conference was attended by nearly 175captive industry professionals who met with the Arizona Departmentof Insurance. Also, more than 50 captive insurance companyrepresentatives attended to learn about the Arizona captiveindustry and its current initiatives.

Arizona's Department of Insurance Captive Administrator RodMorris said the DOI would work jointly with the association toensure that Arizona is known throughout the industry as a “CaptiveAdvocate.”
