The Thomson Corporation announced the acquisition of OdenInsurance Services, Inc., a provider of insurance compliance andadvisory information and workflow tools. Oden will be aligned withThomson West in the company's legal segment.

Oden is known for its compliance and regulatory content andworkflow tools. Its team of editorial specialists is recognized forthe ability to organize, summarize, and interpret insuranceregulations.

Tim Wahlberg, Thomson West vice president, believes Oden'seditorial expertise and leadership position in the insurancecompliance market provides a powerful complement to West's legalresearch information and software offerings. "Compliance andadvisory are among the fastest-growing sources of litigation," hesays. "Our strategy is to build on our position by creatingspecialized offerings for specific practitioners in areas such asinsurance. Oden also provides a suite of insurance workflowsoftware tools that are a powerful channel for delivering Oden andWest content to this strategic market."
