Julian James, director of worldwide markets at Lloyd's as well as an active spokesman for the market in the United States during his nine years on the job, is leaving this spring to join Lockton International Brokerage.

The announcement from London-based Lockton said Mr. James will be taking the newly-created position of executive chairman of international operations later this year. Lloyd's said he would be leaving in April.

Richard Ward, chief executive officer of Lloyd's, said in a statement that Mr. James has been "instrumental in rebuilding and developing Lloyd's global presence."
