Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is considering whether to seek legislation banning insurers from paying contingent commissions to brokers and agents for commercial insurance–an initiative that has drawn fire nationwide from producer groups.

Connecticut passed legislation in 2005 requiring greater agent and broker disclosure concerning their compensation.
