Where you live depends somewhat on what attitudes you holdtoward insurance issues, according to a new study.
A study published this week by the Insurance Research Councilrevealed that half of residents of coastal counties feel thatpolicyholder and government subsidies for wind damage are unfair.But 63 percent of resident from noncoastal counties and interiorstates hold that view.
In like manner, 51 percent found subsidies for flood insurancethrough the National Flood Insurance Program to be unfair comparedto 59 percent from interior counties and 61 percent from noncoastalareas.
