Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. announced today that it has named Alan W. Bieler to the post of treasurer vacated by Matthew B. Bartley, who was promoted to MMC chief financial officer last month.
Mr. Bieler, who joined MMC in July 2001 as assistant treasurer, will report to Mr. Bartley, the company said.
Prior to joining the company Mr. Bieler spent eight years at PepsiCo Inc., serving in a variety of positions, including director of corporate finance, director of international treasury with responsibility for Europe, Middle East and Africa in roles spanning capital planning and capital investments, MMC.
