After announcing an agreement on Aug. 10, IBM now has completed its acquisition of FileNet, whose operations will be integrated into IBM's Information Management software business.
IBM acquired FileNet to advance its Information on Demand initiative, IBM's strategy for pursuing the growing market opportunity around helping clients capture insights from their information so it can be used as a strategic asset. FileNet is a provider of business process and content management solutions that help companies simplify decision-making processes.
Thousands of customers using IBM and FileNet solutions have a comprehensive base of content management products to build upon as they explore next-generation information management solutions.
