The National Insurance Crime Bureau recently named the top 10states for motorcycle theft in 2005.

According to NICB, 70,613 motorcycles were stolen last year, aslight decrease from the 71,108 stolen in 2004. These numbersrepresent a loss of over $434 million to motorcycle owners and theinsurance industry. Additionally, a motorcycle's base pricesometimes exceeds $20,000 once details are added, yet recoveryrates typically fall in the 25- to 30-percent range nationally.
