Novia Underwriters Inc., a specialist in medical stop loss insurance, was acquired by Houston-based HCC Insurance Holdings Inc.
Terms of the deal were not released. HCC said the transaction is expected to be completed shortly.
Novia, based in Indianapolis, was founded in 1997 and currently writes $20 million in premiums as a managing general agent.
