American International Marine Agency Inc. (AIMA), a wholly owned subsidiary of C. V. Starr & Co. Inc., led by ousted American International Group Chairman Maurice Greenberg, informed AIG that it intends to terminate its relationship with the New York-based carrier.

AIMA said the relationship would end effective Jan. 1, 2007, under terms of an agreement between it and AIG that was established in 1977. AIMA said that, under the agreement, it would stop acting as a managing general agent for AIG.

The MGA produces ocean marine insurance for cargo, hull and marine liability risks. It also covers multinationals, importers, exporters, manufacturers and logistics operators.
