The Insurance Data Management Association has selected its nextpresident, and also recognized the contributions of others workingin the field.

Aimee Siliato, director of government relations and datamanagement for the Insurance Services Office, has been votedpresident-elect of the IDMA. Ms. Siliato will assume the positionin April 2007.

In addition, several members were recognized for their work inthe field of data management. Peter Marotta, principal consultantof data management at ISO, was named as the first recipient of theGary W. Knoble Service Award. The award, established in 2005,recognizes IDMA members for “significant volunteer contributions”to the data management profession.

IDMA is a nonprofit association focused on insurance datamanagement, paying special attention to professionalism througheducation. The group works by establishing educational curricula,holding forums and publishing white papers on various issues, andthrough cooperative activities with other societies.

Other ISO staffers being distinguished were executive vicepresident Carole Banfield, assistant vice president Art Cadorineand Peter Marotta–all named fellows in Insurance DataManagement.

This was the first year for a new non-academic designationinstituted by the association. Future recipients of the honor willbe named annually on the recommendation of the IDMA Committee onProfessionalism, according to the association.
