NuQuest Resources Inc. and Bridge Point Inc. of Longwood, Fla., were acquired by Brown & Brown Inc., which said the purchase will allow it to service a workers' compensation insurance niche.
The Daytona Beach, Fla.-based insurance broker said the two firms, with reported annual revenues of approximately $5.6 million, are providers of Medicare Secondary Payer statute compliance-related services.
This includes Medicare set-aside services, cost allocation projections, claims resolution services, custodial account administration and consulting services, primarily in the area of workers' comp claims.
J. Powell Brown, regional executive vice president of Brown & Brown, said that with the acquisition of NuQuest and Bridge Point the firm will be entering into a specialized niche in workers' comp insurance-related services.
The two operations will continue to operate as free-standing profit centers under the management of Patricia Meifert and current staff.
