Vincent J. Trosino Sr., president, vice chairman and chief operating officer for Bloomington, Ill.-based State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., will retire at year's end, the company said.

Mr. Trosino, 65, became president eight years ago. He was named executive vice president in 1987, chief operating officer in 1991 and vice chairman in 1994. He started with the company 44 years ago.

He is also vice chairman of the board of State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. and State Farm Life Insurance Co., and serves on the boards of other State Farm affiliates.
