Insurers may not find many growth markets left to tap into, butexecutives with two leading brokers believe pollution liabilitycoverage for contractors--and environmental insurance, ingeneral--offer growth opportunities for years to come.

"Environmental insurance has been around for 30 years, but inthe last five years we have seen exponential growth in the[purchase] of this product," said David Bennink, managing directorof Aon Environmental. "Market forces are driving demand," hesaid.

"There is still a tremendous universe of buyers," said Gary M.Rodrigues, managing director of Willis National Environmentalpractice. "We have not moved out from the shallow end of the pool[of the market of buyers] to the deep end."
