Insurers may not find many growth markets left to tap into, but executives with two leading brokers believe pollution liability coverage for contractors--and environmental insurance, in general--offer growth opportunities for years to come.
"Environmental insurance has been around for 30 years, but in the last five years we have seen exponential growth in the [purchase] of this product," said David Bennink, managing director of Aon Environmental. "Market forces are driving demand," he said.
"There is still a tremendous universe of buyers," said Gary M. Rodrigues, managing director of Willis National Environmental practice. "We have not moved out from the shallow end of the pool [of the market of buyers] to the deep end."
