Royal & SunAlliance Responds To Rating Downgrade International Editor


Fitch Ratings, the international rating agency, has downgraded the financial strength ratings of Royal & SunAlliance plc and its U.S. insurance subsidiaries to “triple-B-plus” from “A-minus.”

The downgrade, which is based on public information, “reflects the agencys increased concern over the groups ability to execute its strategy over the next 18 months,” the agency said, adding that executing its strategy “is necessary to return its capital position to levels consistent with an A range rating.”
