Challenges Loom In 2002,But Opportunities Also Emerge

As overwhelmingly difficult as 2001 was for insurers, agents, brokers, and risk managers, 2002 is already challenging in its own right.

We got off to a very bad start with the withdrawal of terrorism coverage–first by reinsurers, and then by primary carriers after Congress failed to agree on a federal role to fill the vacuum left by the private market. But terrorism is not the only problem looming on the horizon. All of the industry’s major players are going to have their hands full.
