Risk Strategies has acquired Felsen Insurance Services, a New Jersey-based provider of commercial and personal property and casualty insurance products and services. Felsen has a specialty focus on the needs of synagogues and temples and their associated operations, including day care centers, youth group activities, in-house catering, a cemetery and rare artifacts like Torah scrolls.

Hilb Group has acquired a Louisiana-based property and casualty business. The acquisition took effect November 1 and adds to the company's growing presence throughout the state and region.

SageSure and Auros Reciprocal Insurance Exchange, a Mississippi-domiciled property insurer owned by its policyholders, partnered to bring homeowners solutions to Louisiana and Mississippi.

atNorth expanded two of its data centers in Iceland. The ICE02 campus near Keflavík gained an additional capacity of 35MW. The ICE03 site in Akureyri that opened last year will gain additional capacity of 16MW. Both sites have surplus space for further expansion in line with future demand.

Celent has named RegEd and its Enterprise Xchange Producer Management solution as a “Functional Standout” in the research and advisory firm’s report, Insurance Distribution Management Systems: North American Edition. Functional Standouts “excel in functionality and are likely to have a large installed base. Often more established, these solutions have built out a robust set of features over many years,” the report said.

Bishop Street Underwriters has acquired Ethos Specialty’s Transactional Liability unit. The addition of Ethos Transactional further strengthens Bishop Street’s platform and expands its suite of specialized client solutions while continuing to drive strong underwriting profitability. Financial terms were not disclosed.

In an effort to strengthen flood resilience in Southwest Virginia, RISE, a Virginia-based nonprofit focused on climate adaptation, has awarded $1.2 million in funding to five winners of the Riverine Community Resilience Challenge. The funding, provided by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, will support projects aimed at developing advanced flood warning systems and community-driven insurance solutions to protect vulnerable communities.

Florida's Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis highlighted the 'Check My Contract' portal to fight post-storm fraud. The Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) 'Check My Contract' portal assists residential or commercial property insurance policyholders who have entered into a repair contract with contractors, restoration professionals or public adjusters related to an insurance claim. Check My Contract allows these policyholders to submit repair contracts to DFS for independent review to gather any potential evidence of insurance fraud against Florida policyholders, especially following storms, and ensure the contract complies with Florida law.

Hub International Limited has acquired the assets of ANCO Insurance Managers. Headquartered in Bryan, Texas, with six additional offices, ANCO Insurance is one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in the state, offering solutions for employee benefits, business and personal insurance coverage for more than 150 years. ANCO Insurance currently serves thousands of business and personal clients throughout Texas and beyond and employs more than 150 people.

World Insurance Associates acquired the business of five entities with locations across Louisiana and Texas on August 1. The agencies are The Firm of Louisiana, McFatter Insurance Agency, Insure Plus LLC, The Firm of Cenla and Creekside Risk Management LLC. The entities are mainly property and casualty specialists, providing insurance to individuals and businesses. World Insurance Associates also acquired the business of Skylands Insurance Group of Flanders, N.J., in August. Skylands was founded in 2017 and provides property, casualty, life and health insurance for businesses, individuals and families.
