The insurance industry has been facing a looming talent crisis for years. In the pandemic age, social distancing and virtual operations have added to recruitment concerns.

But on campuses across the U.S., top risk management and insurance programs haven't slowed their efforts in churning out top industry talent.

In the latest installment of Insurance Speak, Gary Sullivan, assistant professor and program director for risk management at Mercyhurst University, and Emily Shopene, a student at Mercyhurst University studying risk management and accounting, discuss the opportunities in the insurance industry for college students.

In the episode, Sullivan and Shopene highlight how colleges are preparing the next generation of insurance professionals and the role insurers can play in training and hiring students, and best practices in recruitment strategies and networking opportunities.
