College students today have the world at their feet. While some may choose to pursue careers based solely on the paycheck potential, others may choose to go the other direction and follow their passions regardless of the payout.

PropertyCasualty360.com's ALM colleagues at ThinkAdvisor extracted the 20 worst-paying college majors from PayScale's annual College Salary Report, excluding education majors, which comprised five of the 20 lowest paying degrees.

The ranking considers majors by mid-career pay — the median salary for workers with 10 or more years of experience.
