Sapiens International Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Adaptik. The transaction is expected to be completed in early March 2018.
Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC has acquired Highsmith Insurance, a Raleigh, North Carolina-based independent insurance brokerage firm. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) has announced that 650 insurance professionals and industry supporters attended its sixth annual Southeast Benefit Dinner on Feb. 1 at the Ritz Carlton Dallas. More than $900,000 was raised to support grants that benefit nonprofits located throughout the Southeastern U.S.
Aon Securities, the investment banking division of global reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor Aon Benfield, has assisted the World Bank in structuring the largest ever catastrophe bond covering earthquake, providing the organization with $1.36 billion of capital markets protection. The bond, which mitigates balance sheet risk for the World Bank in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru by offering protection against earthquake risk on a parametric basis, is the second largest catastrophe bond on record and represents the largest sovereign risk transfer in the history of the insurance-linked securities sector.
HUB International Limited has acquires the shares of Kindersley Insurance Ltd. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
HUB also announced the launch of its first eight industry Specialty practices. HUB's first Specialty practices include Transportation, Financial Institutions, Entertainment/Sports, Construction, Agriculture, Hospitality, Real Estate and Healthcare.
