Chicago-based insurance brokerage HubInternational Ltd. said it has acquired theassets of La Quinta, Calif.-based Pickett andAssociates Inc., a provider of employee benefits services andinsurance. Pickett’s owners, Debra Pickett and Richard Torres,will join Hub California, and report to Hub’sexecutive vice president, Mike Reilly. Terms of theacquisition were not disclosed.

Hub also said it has acquired the assets of Canadian-basedcommercial lines and personal insurance provider HarmonyInsurance Ltd. Terms of the acquisition were notdisclosed. The Harmony team, which is based in Hinton,Alberta, will join HubBarton.

Needham, Mass.-based contents claims management softwarecompany Enservio Inc. said it is now offering itsPaysurance payments software, which it says is designed to offercarriers and policyholders a choice of payment options.

Valhalla, N.Y.-based insurance brokerage and consultingcompany USI Insurance Services said it has acquiredTerre Haute, Ind.-based insurance agency Forest ShererInsurance Inc. from Terre Haute-based First FinancialCorp. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but ForestSherer employees are to remain at the curent Terre Haute andEvansville, Ind., locations.

New York City-based insurance broker andconsultant NFP said it is selling a majority stakein its NFP Advisor Services unit to Greenwich, Conn.-based privateequity firm Stone PointCapital LLC. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in90 days, were not disclosed. NFP Advisor Services is to be renamedKestra Financial, the companies said.

White Plains, N.Y.-based middle marketagency Marsh & McLennan AgencyLLC announced it has acquired New York City-basedinsurance brokerage and human resource consultingfirm Corporate Consulting Services Ltd. Terms of thetransaction were not disclosed, but CCS's employees will remain inits New York office under the leadership of CCS President and CEOGrant Dougherty, and work under the Marsh & McLennan Agencyname.

New York City-based risk managementnonprofit RIMS said risk professionals from around theworld will participate in its 10th annual Community Service Day on April 10th. RIMS ’16attendees will work with San Diego-based nonprofit Harmoniumto paint, landscape and complete other low-maintenance projects forthe schools that host the nonprofit’s Klassic Kidsprogram.

RIMS said a second Community Service Day project will be held onApril 12th at the San Diego Convention Center wherevolunteers will assemble backpacks filled with food for elementaryschool children who are on the federal free or reduced-price mealprogram.

Hackensack, N.J.-based personal lines and commercial insurancebroker Confie Seguros said it has acquiredSpringfield, Mass.-based Axiom Insurance Agency. Terms were notdisclosed.

The Tampa, Fla.-based nonprofit InsuranceInstitute for Business & Home Safety said thefirst "Fortified Home" using the "High Wind and Hail" standardswill be built in Tulsa, Okla., in the coming months. The nonprofitsaid $3,000 from a donation of $15,000 by State Farm will be usedto start the constrution in partnership with Tulsa Habitat forHumanity.

Israel-based insurance software provider Sapiens InternationalCorp. said it now offering its Sapiens Intelligence advanced analyticssoftware.

Itasca, Ill.-based insurance brokerage and risk managementservices company Arthur J. Gallagher &Co. said it has acquired Farmington, Conn.-basedmanaging general agent and wholesale insurance broker Joseph Distel &Co. Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, butGallagher said former owner Ken Distel and his employees willcontinue to operate from their location in Farmington under thedirection of Joel Cavaness, president of Risk Placement ServicesInc., a Gallagher subsidiary.

Gallagher also said it has acquired Oklahoma City-based employeebenefits insurance broker Capitol BenefitsGroup. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, butGallagher said owners Charles Paine, Diane Paine and theiremployees will continue to operate from their current locationunder the direction of John Neumaier, head of Gallagher's SouthCentral employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.

Wheeling, Ill.-based commercial and residential propertyrestoration firm Response Team1 said it has acquired Philadelphia-basednational restoration and remediation firm VenturiRestoration; Raleigh, N.C.-based property restorationcompany Emergency Reconstruction; and Van Nuys,Calif.-based residential and commercial restoration servicesprovider JFS Construction Group. Terms of the deals were notdisclosed The company also said it has also receive an undisclosedinvestement amount from Providence, R.I.-based private equity firmNauticPartners.

Stockton, Calif.-based property and casualty insurance providerGolden Bear InsuranceCo. said it has opened a Professional Liabilitydivision.

The New York City-based TravelersCos. Inc. announced that it has developed what it saysis the first predictive model designed to reverse a sharp rise inchronic pain caused by workplace injuries. The company says itsTravelers Early Severity Predictor identifies the likelihood of aninjured employee developing chronic pain so that they can avoid itin recovery and reduce the need to use opioids or otherpainkillers.

Boston-based insurance brokerage Risk StrategiesCo. said it has acquired Schenectady, N.Y.-basedbrokerage Maggs & Associates, which specializes ininsurance placement and risk mitigation needs of colleges anduniversities. Terms were not disclosed, but the company said formerowner Thomas Maggs and his staff will join Risk Strategies andcontinue to operate from its Schenectady office.

Miami-based auto insurance carrier Windhaven Insurance said it has acquiredTexas-based property and casualty provider ATX Premier in anagreement with Altanta-based NationsBuilders Insurance ServicesInc.
