Memphis, Tenn.-based Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc., said that it has appointed Ericka DeBruce vice president of engagement, inclusion and social responsibility. She joins from International Paper, where she was global diversity and inclusion manager.

The Risk Institute at the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business in Columbus, Ohio, said it has appointed Huntington Bank Chief Risk Officer Helga Houston chairwoman of its advisory board. She succeeds Mike Mahaffey, chief strategy and chief risk officer at Nationwide, who served as chairman since the board’s inception in 2013.

St. Petersburg, Fla.-based independent insurance agent Anchor Insurance has appointed John Wortman president and Kevin Pawlowski chief operating officer. Wortman joins from the Florida Citizens Insurance Corp., where he served on the board of governors. Pawlowski joins from MP TotalCare, where he was chief executive officer. Both appointments are subject to approval by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.

India-based assurance services provider Maveric Systems said it has appointed Venkataraghavan Seshadri, formerly with Tesco, vice president of technology-led services; Karthikeyan Malayappan, previously with Intellect Design Arena, vice president of retail banking; and Kishan Sundar, previously with Tesco, vice president of digital assurance.

Itasca, Ill.-based insurance brokerage and risk management services company Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said it has named William “Will” FitzSimons senior managing director of its equity advisors retail brokerage services practice group. He joins from Marsh USA in Chicago, where he was managing director of private equity mergers and acquisitions services.

The Arlington, Va.-based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety said it has elected Jack Salzwedel chairman of its board of directors. He is chairman, chief executive officer and president of American Family Mutual Insurance Co. The new chairman-elect is Floyd M. Yager, senior vice president and chief data officer at Allstate Insurance Group. The new vice chairman is William L. Windsor, associate vice president of the office of consumer safety at Nationwide.

The Arlington, Va.-based Highway Loss Data Institute announced the election of Thomas O. Rau as chairman of its board of directors. He is director of property and casualty actuarial research analytics at Nationwide. The new vice chairman is H. Todd Pearce, director and assistant actuary of pricing, product, and reserving department at Geico.

Atlanta-based claims management software provider Crawford & Co. said it has named Bonnie C. Sawdey senior vice president and chief people officer. She most recently served as vice president of Human Resources.

Bala Cynwyd, Pa.-based property/casualty and professional liability insurer Philadelphia Insurance Cos. said it has promoted Sam Garro to senior vice president of compliance, and Patrick Walton to senior vice president of underwriting, both from vice president.

Chicago-based managing general underwriter International Insurance Agency said that Daniel G. Boisvert has been appointed chief executive officer. He retains his current role as chief executive officer of GW Global Insurance LLC.
