(Bloomberg) — The odds are good a winter storm will bring the first heavy snow from Washington to Boston starting Friday, forecasters said.

Depending on the path the storm takes and how it develops, snow could fall from West Virginia to New England, blanketing the cities of New York, Washington, Philadelphia and Boston.

Snow is forecast to start first in Washington during the day on Friday and then later that night in New York and Boston.
