Bangor, Maine-based independent insurance providerCrossInsurance, a subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp.,announced the purchase of Boston-based, property and casualtyretail insurance agency Knapp Schenck & Co. Under terms of theacquisition, Knapp, Schenck & Co. will retain its name andcontinue to operate with the same staff and leadership. KnappSchenck will also continue to operate out of its Boston andBraintree offices.
Risk management company LocktonBrazil announced the acquisition of VIS Corretora de Seguros eBeneficios Ltda., a specialist insurance andemployee benefits broker in Sao Paulo. The agreement is effectiveJan. 1. By early January, VIS´staff is expected to be fullyintegrated into Lockton Brazil's new Sao Paulo offices.
