Munich, Germany-based Allianz Group's specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) announced that Brad Steele has been named head of property for Canada. A 20-year industry veteran, Steele most recently served as director of global broker management for AGCS Canada. He will be based in Toronto.

London-based insurance provider Collinson Group has appointed Yasmine Mathieu president of its Collinson Insurance Brokers Inc. She is a 25-year industry veteran and will be based in Little Rock, Ark.

Arlington, Va.-based Casualty Actuarial Society has appointed Stephen P. Lowe president. Lowe most recently served as managing director of Towers Watson’s global property/casualty risk-consulting and software practice.

Bermuda-based Hamilton Underwriting Ltd., the managing agency of Lloyd's Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd's operations of Hamilton Insurance Group, has appointed Stuart Quinlan head of Professional Lines and deputy active underwriter, and Sima Adhya head of Space. Quinlan joins from Barbican Syndicate 1955, where he was responsible for all casualty insurance and reinsurance lines. Adhya joins from Starstone where she was head of Space.

Glen Allen, Va.-based insurance underwriter Markel Corp. announced that effective Jan. 1, Thomas S. Gayner, president and chief investment officer, and Richard R. Whitt, III, president and co-chief operating officer, will serve as co-chief executive officers of the company. In addition, F. Michael Crowley, president and co-chief operating officer, will serve as the sole president of the company as of the same date. Crowley, Gayner and Whitt will continue to report to Alan I. Kirshner, who will serve as the company's executive chairman.
