All NAPSLO members are encouraged to attend the Association’s Annual Business Meeting during the Convention’s Gary Sinise-shutterstock-Joe Seer General Session on Friday at 9 a.m. in Grand Hall A, located on the Lobby Level of the Manchester Grand Hyatt.

During the General Session, members are asked to vote upon and approve a slate of officers and directors for the Association for the coming year. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear a brief overview of the Association’s work during the past year, and will honor several award recipients, including the Charles A McAlear/NAPSLO Industry Award, which recognized an individual who has made significant contributions to the surplus lines industry; the President’s Award, which recognizes a committee chair for outstanding service; the W. Dana Roehrig Past President’s Award, which recognizes the efforts of a NAPSLO committee member; and the Richard M. Bouhan Legislative Advocacy Award, which honors an individual whose advocacy has advanced the legislative interests of the industry.

General Session attendees will also hear from keynote speaker Gary Sinise, actor, director, musician and a dedicated advocate of America’s servicemen and women. His support to our nation’s active duty defenders, veterans and first responders has become a tireless crusade of service and to all those who protect our freedom and serve our country. In 2011, he established the Gary Sinise Foundation. The non-profit organization’s mission is to serve and honor our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders and their families by creating and supporting unique programs that entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities.

Giving back to those who sacrifice for our nation and encouraging others to do the same has become Sinise’s personal quest and what he hopes will endure as a legacy of service to others. The address is part of the E.G. Lassiter Lecture Series, Presented by the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation.
