Two planes nearly collided at Barcelona Airport in Spain this weekend as one was taking off and the other was landing, reports Business Insider. The potential disaster was all caught on high resolution video.
The video shows an Utair Boeing 767-300 on final approach to a runway just as an Aerolineas Argentineas Airbus A340-300 prepares to take off, says Business Insider. Seeing the Airbus in its runway, the Utair pilots quickly abort the landing, pulling up and clearing the plane on the ground. Aborting the landing was a risky decision, as unexpectedly reentering airspace could cause a collision with other planes in the air above the airport.
Luckily, the Airbus was able to takeoff unscathed, and the Utair plane was able to successfully land after circling above the airport for another opportunity to descend.
