For many parents, deciding on the right baby name can be an intensive process. Honoring a beloved relative or historical figure, perusing baby name books and websites for the perfect meaning, or surveying the top choices of friends and relatives are just some of the ways that parents work to select the perfect name for their little one. Nobody, however, probably chooses their child’s name based on the likelihood of people with a particular name getting into a car crash or have their car stolen. 

But as the Social Security Administration released its annual list of the most popular baby names, Erie Insurance, in tongue-in-cheek spirit, compared the Administration’s list with its claims data, ranking which names have had the most car accident claims and which names had their cars stolen the most.
