Residents of the Monmouth County borough of Union Beach, N.J.commemorated the one-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy with anevent titled “Lights of Hope.” Carrying battery-operated candles,residents spoke of staying strong and rebuilding the homes theyloved. “We're going to rebuild. We're strong. We're together,” saidAbbie Evans, a 53-year-old resident whose home on Center Street wasdemolished three weeks ago. “This is ours. We can overcomeanything.”
