Travelers has launched an online cyber security portal thatprovides customers access to data-theft education and specializedcyber policies.

“Travelers Cyber Security” includes tools to help evaluate cyberexposures, a review of common consumer protection laws (49 statebreach laws, USA Patriot Act, EU Data Protection Directive, etc.),and direct links to cyber-policy agents who can point clientstowards a product tailored to their needs.

During October, the portal will also post weekly cyber securitytips for National Cyber Security Awareness month, promoted by theCyber Security Alliance in an effort by the U.S. government to helpconsumers and organizations assess cyber securityresources.

“Technology and the sharing of information have become centralparts of both business operations and our everyday lives, which iswhy it is so important that we are all aware of the many formscyber risks take and what strategies can help keep business ownersand individuals safe,” said Tim Francis, Travelers' enterprisecyber lead. “For nearly three decades, Travelers has helped preventand manage cyber exposures, and we hope this new resource centerhelps people better prepare for the unexpected.”

Travelers' e-coverage offerings include a broad-rangingCyberRisk policy and products for technology companies, publicentities, small businesses, and small businesses.

Some clients will receive an invitation to Travelers' new eRiskHub, which features content from risk managers and otherspecialists regarding computer forensics, forensic accounting,crisis communications, and legal counsel issues related to cyberrisk. The hub features privacy-control tools, a cyber attack costcalculator, a learning center, and a consultation with a “breachcoach” in case of a hacking incident.
