Travelers has partnered with the Women's Business Development Center (WBDC), a program that fosters entrepreneurship, and with nonprofit microfinance institution Accion to teach female and minority business owners about risk management.

The Small Business Risk Education (SBRE) program was launched on Thursday in Chicago, where SBRE estimates 47 percent of all jobs are created by small companies.

SBRE will help its members develop risk management plans by increasing awareness of the most common safety risks faced by small businesses and offer training on business continuity planning.
