FiskBieker joinedOneBeacon in 2010. She has over 25 years of technology experience.Dhami joined OneBeacon in 2011 and has ten years of experience inthe technology insurance sector.

TheAmerican College announced that RoySimmons, an associate wealth management advisor atNorthwestern Mutual Wealth Management inColumbia, SC, is the first individual in the nation to earn theinstitution's prestigious Retirement Income Certified Professionaldesignation.

Vertafore promoted JoshuaSchmidt to vice president, chief information securityofficer. Schmidt joined Vertafore in 2008 as director ofInformation Risk Management. Schmidt has assisted many financialservices companies in aligning their information risk managementprograms with regulatory requirements and internationalstandards.

Mergers & Acquisitions

The HilbGroup acquired Engle, Paxson & Hawthorne InsuranceServices. EPH provides residents and business owners inNorthern VA, Washington DC and Maryland protections for assets andhealth. The Hilb Group focuses on acquisitions in the middlemarket insurance brokerage. The company is headquartered inRichmond, Va. with offices in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee,Georgia, Maryland and New York.

Atlas GeneralInsurance Services acquired South Bay Underwriters, LLC, fromBliss & Glennon. On May 1, 2013, this new unit ofAtlas will be established under the name “Atlas Specialty PropertyDivision,” and it will focus on difference in conditions insurance.The division will concentrate its efforts on commercial propertyrisks largely comprised of real estate schedules, municipalities,and retail.

New Programs

The ACEGroup launched ACE Agribusiness through the integrationof Penn Millers Insurance Company in 2011, and the Farm and Ranchdivision of Rain and Hail Insurance Service purchased in 2010. ACEAgribusiness will provide farm and ranch and specialty property andcasualty commercial underwriting products and services to theagriculture market.

Ryan SpecialtyGroup's Sapphire Blue and Lloyd's Catlin Underwriting AgenciesLtd. announced a new liability insurance program for U.S. smallrural and specialty hospitals.The program features a riskmanagement component provided by Pendulum, LLC and The SullivanGroup. Coverage is claims made hospital professional liability andclaims made or occurrence general liability.

K&K Insurance Group announced enhancements to itsfranchised powersports dealer program. The program now includescoverage for Segway personal transportation machines. Package and excess lines of coverage are offered to dealerships whosell approved brands of motorcycle and powersport productsincluding those without motorcycle product sales.

MSO isexpanding its specialty businessowners programs they offer toinclude funeral directors and dry cleaners. This is in addition toprograms already available for such exposures as bed andbreakfasts, restaurants, self-storage, landlords, condominiumowners and home businesses.
