CNA hires Hartford VP: CNA Financial Corp. named Bill Donovan vice president of its Hartford, Conn., branch, effective April 4. Donovan holds 27 years of industry experience and comes to CNA from The Hartford. As vice president, Donovan will be responsible for synchronizing branch operations.
Utica Mutual promotes 3: Utica Mutual Insurance Co. named Richard Creedon and Daniel Daly to its board of directors. It named Kristen Martin corporate secretary to the board of directors for Utica Mutual and Graphics Arts Mutual Insurance Co. Currently, Creedon is executive vice president, general counsel and senior claims officer for Utica National. Daly is executive vice president and senior marketing/regional operations officer for Utica National. And Martin is senior vice president, general auditor and corporate secretary for Utica National.
AIMS Society elects officers: The American Insurance Marketing & Sales Society elected Craig Most—of Most Insurance, and Charles Venus—of Johnson & Strachan, to its board of directors. Board members began their year-long terms of service on April 1.
FSU inducts 3 to hall of fame: The Florida State University College of Business named William Hold, president and co-founder of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, to its 2012 hall of fame in a ceremony March 29. Other College of Business event honorees included Tim Cole—executive vice president for sales at Del Monte Foods, and J. Michael Pate—former newspaper exec.

WRM America merges with Catlin US: WRM America signed a partnership agreement with Catlin US, a part of Catlin Group Ltd. This alliance will increase WRM’s capacity to insure a wide range of institutions.
UE announces Community College Focus: United Educators Insurance, a reciprocal risk retention group, introduced its liability package for community colleges, called Community College Focus. The program includes coverage for employment practices, professional services and internships, and general liability at both primary and excess levels.
MPG, North American Specialty introduce commercial vessel program: Maritime Program Group and North American Specialty announced a new program for commercial vessels. Coverage includes near shore commercial fishing vessels—including rod and reel, lobster, and aquaculture support vessels; marine contracting barges and work boats, research vessels, municipal and state vessels—including fire, rescue and patrol; marine transportation, marine towing, vessels under construction, environmental monitoring and fishing guide boats.
