Appalachian hires Carolina broker: Robert Lowery has joined Appalachian Underwriters Inc. as a broker for the Carolina region. Lowery brings more than 30 years of experience as an E&S broker.

PCI names counsel SVP: The Property Casualty Insurers Assn. of America (PCI) named Randi Cigelnik as the trade's new senior vice president, corporate secretary and general counsel. Most recently, she served as general counsel for AXIS Capital's Ireland and United Kingdom based companies.

Zurich appoints GCiNA property head: Zurich named Joe Tinetti as head of Property for Global Corporate in North America (GCiNA). Tinetti will lead the property operations for Zurich and develop the corporate business across North America, including Domestic Property, International Program Property and Boiler & Machinery. He will be responsible for profit-and-loss accountability for Zurich's GCiNA property results.

New broker at Worldwide: Timothy Bass joined Worldwide Facilities in the San Francisco office as a property/casualty broker.

Connor promoted at Jimcor: Brian Connor has been promoted to branch mamanger of the Jimcor Agencies' Montvale, N.J., office. Brian has served the company for 1 year in the role of assistant branch manager.

Aquino rejoins Swett: Robert Aquino has rejoined Swett & Crawford as a broker in Fresno, Calif.

Summit Re appoints exec: Jack Snyder joined Summit Reinsurance Services as regional vice president, employer stop loss. He brings nearly 30 years of sales and underwriting experience to Summit Re.

Lapre Scali acquired: National Financial Partners Corp. has acquired Scottsdale-based Lapre Scali & Co. Insurance Services. Lapre Scali generates $21 million in revenue and was a finalist in AA&B's Commercial Agency Awards for Excellence.

Bollinger acquires PCG: Short Hills, N.J.-based broker Bollinger Inc. acquired The Property and Casualty Group, Cranford, N.J.

Gallagher expands: Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Itasca, Ill., acquired Mortgage Insurance Agency Ltd., Crystal Lake, Ill.
