SunGard has acquired Toronto-based Stratix Consulting, aprovider of IT consulting services to Canada's financial servicescompanies. Specializing in capital markets, wealth and investmentmanagement, and insurance, Stratix Consulting has delivered ITmanagement consulting and implementation services for customerssince 1996. Terms of the transaction, which is not expectedto have a material financial impact on SunGard, were notdisclosed.

Stratix Consulting will be part of SunGard's global servicesbusiness, which combines business consulting, technology andprofessional services for financial services firms

“Joining SunGard gives us the opportunity to undertakemuch larger initiatives,” says Cedric Packham, president andmanaging partner of Stratix. “It will also help us provide a fullyintegrated service offering to our customers by adding applicationdevelopment, testing and systems integration to our implementationservices practice, while also expanding service offerings withinour management consulting practice.”

As part of SunGard Global Services, Packham will become managingpartner of the financial services practice in Canada, reporting toDoug Wendler, president of SunGard Global Services in theAmericas.
