The 51st Annual Florida Surplus Lines Association (FSLA)convention will be held at the Boca Raton Resort and Club July28–30.

Convention registration materials and an agenda have been sentto members. This material also is available on the FSLA website atwww.myfsla.com, along withaccess to Boca Raton Resort room reservation forms.

There will be six exceptional speakers at the two businesssessions. On Friday morning, July 29, the speakers will be CecilPearce, president of the Florida Insurance Council, and Jim Carey,president of Admiral Insurance Co. During the Saturday morningsession the speakers will be Gary Pullen, executive director of theFlorida Surplus Lines Service Office; Douglas Mang of Mang LawFirm, P.A.; Jeff Grady, president of the Florida Association ofInsurance Agents; and Stephan Stephen, director of governmentalrelations at the National Association of Professional Surplus LinesOffices.

Activities and Events
The convention will begin on Thursday afternoon, July 28, whenfellowship and refreshments will be available. On Thursday eveninga reception will be held for first-time attendees, followed by areception for all members and guests.

On Friday afternoon, July 29, there will be a golf tournament atthe Boca Raton Resort course. There also will be a fishingtournament with charter boats leaving from the resort docks. Thatevening there will be a gala reception and banquet dinner. Thefestivities will include drawings for gifts provided by some of oursponsors. Tickets will be sold for the opportunity to acquire oneof these gifts.

Last year there was a cooking demonstration and lunch served onFriday afternoon for those who registered. It was so successfulthat we have decided to repeat it this year with a stellar chef atthe resort making the presentation.
