Aon director receives Pioneer award: Otis Tolbert, resident managing editor of the Capital office at Aon Risk Solutions, received the 2011 Pioneer award by the National African-American Insurance Assn. for his commitment and leadership to the industry. Last year, under Tolbert's leadership, the office received the 2010 Mayor's Business Recognition Award.

AIMS honors Pearsall founder: Curtis Pearsall, founder and principal of Pearsall Assocs., received the American Insurance Marketing & Sales Society's President's Award. Pearsall, AIMS vice president, has been a 10-year member and a board member since 2008.

VP joins Vertafore: Sharath Dorbala joined Vertafore as senior vice president of product management. Dorbala will leverage his decade-long experience in enterprise technology to lead Vertafore's product management efforts.

New Policies

Admiral launches agents E&O: Admiral Insurance Co. introduced agents errors and omissions coverage for newly licensed professionals. Admiral is among the first domestic carriers to offer this coverage to agents and brokers licensed 3 years or less. The program is offered exclusively through Brown & Brown of California.
