The Institute forBusiness & Home Safety has added “insurance” to its name,becoming the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety(IBHS). The institute also has launched a redesigned and upgradedwebsite.
|“Our new name clearly and prominently identifies propertyinsurers, reinsurers and other industry partners as the drivingforces behind IBHS' valuable research, education and public policyinitiatives,” said Julie Rochman, IBHS president and CEO. “Thesecompanies deserve to be given huge credit for their leadership of,and enthusiasm for, effective property loss mitigation.”
|For the sake of continuity, ease, and to preserve brand equitypreviously attached to the institute's name, Rochman said that theorganization will continue to use and be known informally as IBHS.“The 'I' will just have that much more meaning and importance,” sheadded.
|IBHS is an independent, nonprofit, scientific and educationalorganization supported by the property insurance industry. Itconducts objective, scientific research to identify and promoteeffective actions that strengthen homes, businesses, andcommunities against natural disasters and other causes of loss. Ithas facilities in Tampa, Fla., and Richburg, S.C.
