Mitchell International, Inc., a provider of information,workflow, and performance management solutions to theproperty/casualty claims industry, announced the successful closeof its purchase of Ingenix's P&C medical bill review (MBR)business.
The purchase places Mitchellworkers'compensation solutions business and its SmartAdvisor medicalbill review platform in a position to deliver to the insurance andmanaged care related industries advanced technology solutions witha record of streamliningmedical claims operations and improving cost containment.
"Since the intent to purchase the Ingenix MBR business wasannounced on October 20, Mitchell has experienced broad marketacceptance and customer buy-in, the result of a business andtechnology transition strategy that is being deployed within thecontext of Mitchell's position in the P&C marketplace," saysNina Smith-Garmon, senior vice president and general manager of theMitchell workers' compensation solutions division.
