Gallagher has been in the insurance industry since 1981 when hejoined Continental Insurance Co.as an underwriter. He also servedas chief underwriter for Royal Insurance for 10 years beforejoining International Marine Underwriters in 1994. He was appointedto his current position of president in 2001.
