Commercial real estate trends may be stabilizing, according to the latest quarterly survey from Washington, D.C.-based Real Estate Roundtable.

The group surveyed more than 100 senior real estate executives for its quarterly report.

The survey reports:

  • 82 percent think market conditions today are better than they were a year ago, but only 17 percent said conditions were "much better."
  • The survey's "current conditions index," which hit a low point of 17 in the fourth quarter of 2008, stands at 74.
  • Transaction volume is doen 80 to 90 percent since 2007, and values are down by as much as 50 percent in some markets.
  • 28 percent of survey respondents perceived asset prices as lower than tehy were a year ago, compared wtih 57 percent the previous quarter.
