There have been a great number of statements and theories about the Lloyd's Exchange–across both sides of the Atlantic–and while debate is healthy, there is a need to make sure the facts are correct.

We have gone through a great many conferences, open days, communications, and question-and-answer sessions to demystify what the Lloyd's Exchange is, does and will become. And if people have not had their questions answered, they can go to the Web site: www.lloyds.com/exchange.

First, it is worth explaining what the Lloyd's Exchange actually is and provide some background. The Lloyd's Exchange is simply a messaging hub, designed to provide a single connection point allowing the exchange of ACORD data messages. Right now market participants have to manage multiple connections.
