Small-business insurer SME Insurance believes the launch of its new Web site, www.smeinsurance.com, will help customers meet the credit crunch head on.

The carrier sees its Web presence as key to driving new-customer acquisition through lead generation for its producers. With the Internet playing a significant role in determining the success of companies, especially those operating in competitive markets, SME has focused its efforts on tapping into the online marketplace and hopes the Web site will give SME a competitive edge, according to Stuart Knowles, who is with the SME communications staff.
