Britt Glisson has been promoted to chief administrative officer of Markel Corp. Mike Crowley has also been appointed to president of Markel Corp.'s Specialty Division.

Glisson has been with Markel since 1990, most recently as president/chief operating officer of Markel Insurance Co. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Virginia.

Prior to joining Markel, Crowley was president of Willis HRH North America. Crowley, who has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, also held senior positions with Johnson & Higgins and Palmer Cay. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Wake Forest University.
