The majority of insurance executives expect green insurance tobe a durable, considerable and profitable market segment in thefuture.
According to a recent study by Simon-Kucher & Partners of 1,500U.S. insurance executives:

o 67 percent expect green insurance to grow and beprofitable

|

o 72 percent expect customers of green insurance to be willingto pay more

|

o 56 percent expect green insurance to generate lower costs

|

o 94 percent believe provider and service certification will beimportant for its success.

|

The findings suggest that insurers can take action in theeconomic downturn by developing benefit-based green products thatare highly customized for this segment's needs, and communicatingthem through targeted advertising campaigns and reinforcing withenvironmental certifications to appease the segment's desire forcredibility.
